THE WATERFALL

July 2004

floating on my back

the stream carries me

where it wills

smiling

up at the light blue sky

and wispy clouds

hearing

the flap of bird wings

and a few peacock calls

I am simply floating

traveling this river

I used to

hold onto things

a log

a raft

even bubbles

yet it seemed

each in turn

transformed as I held onto it

and eventually

I reached the waterfall

Over the edge

I would go

in those moments

mind stopped

the waterfall

has powers

to transform

in these timely moments

of no mind

all ceases

as soon as I figure something out

it changes

and as soon as something

changes

I figure it out
