MESSAGES IN GOLD

JUlY 2004

One day as I awoke from my night’s dreaming,

I sat at the kitchen table

sipping some morning coffee.

A few moments passed,

when down onto the kitchen table

floated a glowing golden piece of paper.

I looked up at the ceiling

and caught the barest glimpse

of a transparent snowy white dove.

It was gently disappearing through the ceiling,

on soft humming wings,

creating a subtle breeze upon my skin.

The paper seemed to glow

as if it were made of light,

rather than paper.

My hand reached over to touch it.

It was real, all right.

Picking it up,

I realized there were words written upon it

in a beautiful script.

They were shiny metallic gold letters,

which resembled

real gold.

As I began reading,

the golden message warmed my hands

and my heart.

Over a period of several weeks

the same dove continued to appear

hovering over the kitchen table.

She dropped a new message each day,

which would float down

and softly touch upon the table before me.

Each morning,

as I sat to sip my morning coffee,

I read a new message in gold.

How long these messages will continue to float

into my life,

I have no idea.

Perhaps enough to secure together

into a little book.

Perhaps not.

For now,

I will share them with you here.
